Hey ya'll --- my daughter is finally catching the riding bug -- she's still a beginner but she's up to around 20miles and held 20mph in a paceline for a 2 mile stretch (no pulls though).

So....she's moving to Hammond, IN for grad school at Perdue-Cal in a few weeks and she wants to keep riding occasionally --- looking for good bike rides and a shop (a shop that sponsors regular rides would be great!).

Thanks for the help!
Joe

Patience, my man.

There's a great bike shop called Goodspeed with a location in Calumet City (basically Hammond) and one over in Homewood, IL (about 8-10 miles away from Hammond). Here is the website: http://goodspeedcycles.com/ You should stop in the Calumet location and ask about rides.

There are lightly-used MUPs all over, but apparently, the roads are better in Illinois. The Homewood-Flossmoor outdoors group has ad-hoc rides through the week with a consistent 8 AM ride leaving from Goodspeed's Homewood location. Here is the URL to the FB group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/673621269415011/ There may be a NW Indiana rider's group on FB or something.

Using Strava's activity search, I've come up with a few routes.
