I am in need of a new floor pump. I don't want to spend a ton (75 or less ideal). Any suggestions?

I've had good service from the basic-ish Specialized one. I might spring for an SKS Rennkompressor if it ever breaks...

The SKS is currently my front runner....50 bucks and great reviews. If it holds up like their fenders I'm good.

under $75 is no problem to get a good quality floor pump that will provide years of good service.

i've got two pumps in very regular service - one lezyne and one topeak "joe blow", and honestly - they both work perfectly. the topeak joe blow is really an excellent pump for very little $$, buy one and forget about it for a decade or so.

I've had my Joe blow for 10-15 years now. I prefer it to my newer specialized pro pump, the head works better & seals more consistently.

geeter pal, for $75, I am afraid you have over-budgeted. :D

Joe Blow Sport ($50) - inexpensive, it just plain works....and it just won't die.

Second the Joe Blow by Topeak. I have the Sport and have been using it for years - several times a week between the bikes in the house. Best thing is its reliability. I may need to swap out a washer at some point but even that has held up great with all the use.

I might get some comments about this...but I have an old Silca that was replaced by the Topeak. I bought the Joe Blow because I wanted a cheap pump for a mountain bike race a while back but it works so great I have kept on using it. Still not getting rid of the Silca, though.

Another vote for the Topeak Joe Blow - mine has been awesome for a long, long time.

Slightly different question - what pump to put in the bike-bag when travelling?

Weight is important or I'd just chuck my Renkompressor in.

I have two types of pumps I use somewhat interchangeably. Blackburn base model. Hm, never mind, it's nothing like what's sold now. They were the entry level pump, I think $20 at the time. I bought two of them in 1995-1997 era, still have them, original seals, etc. Hose broke 2x on each one, near base, just unscrew, cut off ragged edge, screw back on, done. This is my default race pump so it lives in the car/garage. Dual sided head so better for situations where you have less valve showing than normal.

The other is a Bontrager floor pump. reCharger, base pump, $35. Bought a few because the Blackburn base is a car/metal gouging thing and I figured the Bontrager would be better to move around. I ended up giving a couple away but I still have one by my trainer, another in the garage.

I just use a cheap Performance pump as well as an old silca. It moves air and that's all that matters to me.

I've had my serfas for probably 12 years now. never had any issues (and actually bought a second to leave at work).

My Nashbar blue floor pump is still kicking. Paid $10 (I believe) 10 years ago.

I'm another Joe Blow owner. I've had it for about 5 years now and have put it through quite a beating. Works just as well as day one. You could also go with the cheapo Planet Bike one. My go to LBS uses those. Not sure they're as durable, but they are super cheap to replace.

Oooh that Lezyne is a beauty.

I have a 1971 Schwinn floorpump, still has the original internals, Silca head put on in the `80s, then a Topeak hose/head kit about 6 years ago.
Grease `em every decade, whether they need it or not!
I value Topeak's spares availability over snob appeal of other brands. Added a JoeBlow that I could abuse; leave in the car or on the boat, pump up soccer balls, lend to folks without worry.
A Morph lives on my commuter, and sometimes gets stuffed into jersey pockets.

The floor gauges don't last forever - both the Schwinn and Joe Blow no longer zero out; they sit around 10psi or so when unloaded.
I may spring for a new gauge so I can mess with `cross tire pressures in the 20-40psi zone.

I still have my Silca track pump, but I gotta admit that the Topeak Joe Blow Sport ( yellow) works darn well and it can fit Schraeder too for my kid's bike. Nice gauge, comfy handle and stable (doesn't tip over), and often on sale.

Hard to beat the SKS Rennkompressor...works better than my Silca (which has had reliability issues). Downside is that the gauge is tiny.

I bought a Zefal Airmax at Walmart for about $20, when I was having trouble finding a washer for my Silca, I use it first now, really a great deal, presta/schraeder and gauge..

I've got a bright yellow Pedros that is ugly as sin but works great. I owned a Park tool $70 pump and the gauge quit after 2 months. No Bueno.

After several years my Joe Blow needed a new washer for the Presta side of the head. Topeak sent me a whole new head immediately under warranty. A few weeks later I also received a rebuild kit which was all I really needed. I guess they were temporarily out of the kits and didn't want to keep a customer waiting so they sent the head but didn't cancel their original order for the kit?

I like the double-sided head because my bike friday has Schrader tubes and the pump also came with a needle for inflating balls/toys plus a tapered needle fo inflating mattresses, beach balls, etc.

Love the fact that the Joe Blow has a place to store the basketball valve pin right on the pump body.

Although there's a lot to be said for a Silca Pista, (the $70 one, not the $500 one) which can be found, used at least, within your budget.

+1. I had one for almost a decade and gave it away when I moved to the west coast. It worked flawlessly from day 1. I just picked up another one at Performance for $35.

I have two old Super Pistas down in the shop - one each for Presta and Schrader - and a Zefal Husky, which is a rebadged Rennkompressor, that lives in the car, but the Job Blow that stays in the garage gets the most frequent use and has been as bombproof as the other "legendary" pumps. My advice - get the nicest one you can find with the simple Twinhead pump head. I've seen the more compolicated heads fail under even casual use, and the more expensive models usually have a sturdier base, longer hose, and/or more legible gauge, all of which are worthy upgrades, IMHO.

Good Hunting!

Get the Airmenius instead for a few dollars more. Really great pump. VERY large gauge.

Yes, I love my 40 year old Silca Super Pista. and still use them. He said new pump.

I've had a Joe Blow Sport for about a dozen years and it just works. We have them on sale now for $30. Our cheap pump is $20 and also just works. I also have a Spesh but don't like the smart head and as a result never use it.

Serfas FMP 500, only pump I have ever used for more that would last more than a year in shop use. Do not buy the FMP 550, someone will step on the guage and break it. Serfas supports the pump if you would need spare parts.
