I'm a fan of these supernova tail lights, nice and bright, clean look. they are, to the best of my knowledge made to be paired to a dynamo or headlight for battery source. any ideas about an independent power source for one of these? something to stick in the saddle bag and power the light? thoughts?

Peter White says: "You can power the Supernova headlights with any 6 volt 3 watt hub or sidewall dynamo." And I think the taillights use the same voltage since they connect to the headlights.

The Supernova battery pack appears to just be a velcroed on pouch, http://supernova-lights.com/en/technology/batterytechnology.html

Battery technology is lithium ion but I'd go with a hobby grade lipo like this $5 one: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__9170__Turnigy_1000mAh_2S_20C_Lipo_Pack.html

You would need to add connectors and get a simple battery charger like this one: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__49338__Turnigy_E3_Compact_2S_3S_Lipo_Charger_100 _240v_US_Plug_.html

Certainly possible as a project but not plug and play. If you have a local kid who's into quadcopter or model airplanes he would have most of what you need.
