Besides the dog ears (http://www.dogearsgps.com/) what are the options to fix a Garmin with a broken tab? I dropped it.

Cheap and dirtier way is to epoxy the head unit to a mount. It doesn't leave you any options to change mount types down the road.

I just installed the dog ears a few weeks ago. It's worked great, on some very rough terrain. Other option was to pay Garmin $100 for a refurbished unit. Depending on how scratched your screen is and how well your battery works, that's not such a bad idea. Mine is an 800

Happy with my Dog Ears... Thought about getting the refurb for $100 but the tabs would break again eventually.

Another option would be to replace the back cover, which the mount is part of it. Don't know if you can just buy a new cover to swap it yourself or send it in for the replacment. Contact Garmin for more info.

A quick and dirty method, effective but not elegant, is to buy a SRAM Quickview Computer Adapter, which allows a 205/305/605 slide-in computer to be used with the 'new' style Garmin twist mount. Cut off the slide-in half and epoxy the twist mount side to the bottom of your earless Garmin. A little bit of filing and sanding has to be done to prepare the Garmin and the QuickMount so they mate properly. Works well.

You can get the Quickview at Amazon for $5. http://www.amazon.com/SRAM-QuickView-Adaptor-Garmin-605/dp/B00DPUWXYI

Dog Ears are a great solution. Quick shipping.

Don't do what I did, though, and drill through your Garmin speaker, so now I can't hear the "beep beep" when I turn it on. Oh well.

I used this on my 810. Easy and worked well. If you're OCD, the white color might bother you.
