OK, we all agree that one of the most Phred-like things you can do is tuck your cycling jersey into your shorts. I have no issue with that.

But what about if I’m wearing a T-shirt?

Maybe that itself is a sign that I am like, totally lost in my Phredness, but hey, sometimes it’s a short ride (say 2 hours or less) and I don’t need the Clif bars, the Cytomax is enough. My spare tube and tools are in the saddlebag (another bad sign?) and I have a frame pump. So I don’t need to carry anything in the jersey pockets, and sometimes I don’t want the “boy-racer wannabe” look.

So yes, sometimes I wear a T-shirt. I tuck it in. Good move, or bad?

Ditch the T-shirts completely?

Thanks for you help.

Mr Sachs, around here that will be the equivalent of suicide. I might as well put a gun to my head and pull the trigger. The final results will be identical.

Louis,
In your heart of hearts your inner stylish self knows the answer. Otherwise it wouldn't have caused you even *more* public embarassment by having you post the question here on the board!

In this case, listen to the voice!

Unless you've confused it by wearing baggy shorts and sandals on the bike. If you're wearing lycra though, it knows the answer.

It's the menacing bug in plastic and spandex that you should be concerned about! What rates as "normal" these days for cycling fashion makes me long for more phredness! Wear that tee shirt anyway you darn well please!

Nice colors, blue and white, I like it. I can color coordinate it with my mind. But the question is if it should be worn inside the Lycra or if you should just let it hang out. I like to let it hang out, atmo.

"important" and "fashion" don't belong in the same sentence.

and I don't know why you're asking folks for fashion advice who tape their nips to avoid chafing by bib shorts. Being called a phred by a nip-taper wouldn't bother me one iota.

Don't let common sense get away, however. T-shirt should not touch chamois, I would think. And never tuck when using those greasy concoctions.

Whatever you do, DO NOT do what the newest member of our Monday night ride did last night.

He's a nice guy, riding a Surly, able to ride well in the group, took his turns, all good stuff. :D

But, or maybe I should say BUTT.... he was wearing MTB shorts that rode a little low and a t-shirt that rode a little high, resulting in the Britney Spears, teeny bopper, midriff look in the front, and the every plumber who's ever given you nightmares look when following him. :help:

I don't think any of us will be quite the same again.

Shino,

I'm confused, is that shirt for men or is it for women? ;)

Yep,
Enough people wear T shirts when they ride that the tech clothing companies had to get in on the action. ;)
