I think I will be interested in following this racing series.

The Shelby GT350R-C entered it's first race ever last weekend and finished 4th, 1.3 seconds behind the winner. Not bad for a first race.

The race will air on Fox Sports 1 on July 5th. I am more interested in this race than other styles of car racing, since this race series is for cars based upon stock automobiles. No skin on tube frame cars with engines you can't buy or use on the street.

The results:

This reminds me of the Trans Am series that was run from about 66 to 72. We use to go to Laguna Seca every year for this race weekend. It was paired with the mighty Can Am cars which made it awesome spectacle. I hope this series continues to thrive it is a fun to watch cars race that you can see on the streets.

Does this car have the latest 2015 Mustang suspension? Or older solid axle set up?

It has the new setup & new flat plane crank engine. There was a Boss 302 shown further down the results sheet.

This car, the GT350RC is based on the street Mustang with independent suspension all around and the baddest. 5.2L flat plane crank engine.

I have so many memories of that era: Trans Am, Can Am with the Chaparells and Mclarens. Awesome big blocks with incredible deep sounds.
Now I am driving a MINI, oh well.
