My new pre-ride drink Guayusa

Have been using this for about a month and it really does work. It is a tea like plant from the Amazon, the natives have been using it for thousands of years. They advertise it as "clean energy", it is also marketed under the name Runa.

It can be bought canned like a soda or as a loose leaf that needs to be steeped in water like tea. That's the way I have been using it, add some honey and it is amazing.

Caffeine fueled as much as a cup of coffee,( http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2014/07/140703-guayusa-ecuador-amazon-health-foods-tea) too bad I can't drink it much like Red Bull. I usually make my own pre ride drink with banana,blueberries,beets,kale or whatever else I may have in the produce bin.

It does have a "tea" sort of taste, but the energy effect is much different than what you would get from coffee or a coke.

OP- how have you been buying/consuming it? (canned or loose leaf)

Loose leaf, a 1 lb bag on Amazon about $23 shipped and I am not a Prime memeber.
