Noticed a beat up, old, frame amongst a pile of trash at a local flea market today, and upon closer inspection, there were a few nifty looking aspects that appeared to separate it from the typical junk-pile stuff. First I noticed a rather odd looking cable guide above the bottom bracket shell, and when I managed to extract it, not only did I find that the frame is filet brazed, but I found an unknown name running down the seat tube. A previous owner had engraved his name on the underside of the bb shell, along with the date 1966, so that adds a nice bit of history and helps with dating. There are two tiny "Made in France" stickers on the frame, but I've been able to find almost nothing on this builder, "A. (Andre) Sabliere", beyond a very sparse web page with a very limited history. Anyone know anything about this Sabliere chap? Here are a few shots:
