All -

I'm curious thoughts on the original stem used for a 1" Serotta F1 fork - I have one paintmatched with a CRL (also have the steel threaded fork) and have a shim and thomson stem. Looks kinda thick, kinda off, functions fine though.

Any words on 1" stems? I know salsa makes one, don't really care for the color scheme though. Always liked Cinelli Alter's

The F1 is a great fork, but considering using the steel and going quill stem for more pretty.

hunt around for a ti serotta stem or any 1" ti stem

de sticker a salsa, they are put on over the clear and easy to remove.

ITM big one was a nice aluminum stem for 1"

some thinner 1 1/8" stems look okay, VO with a shim is okay looking.

syntace f99 with a shim is still pretty small

cinelli sesamo if your cool with something weird

Thanks for the intel - wasn't aware of the ITM Big One - seems like a solid option. Will keep an eye out for a Serotta as well.

No +1s for a Cinelli alter? would look equally at home with my mixed DA/Campy drivetrain

alter is sweet for sure, not really low pro though,

better for a vintage alloy race bike .

IMHO

1 1/8 Ritchey stems work well even with a shim. Good looking stem, and slim enough.

yup, that ritchey classic is handsome if silver is prefered.

I just picked up an ITM big one for 15 bucks, actually, NOS.

Seems like a solid option - that Cinelli Sesamo is hot though!

albeit bought the wrong angled stem, so it will be flipped.
