Looking to putting this on the classifieds and know nothing about them. Is there any value to these bikes?

I'm not sure what the going rate would be, but I bet you'd definitely find people interested in buying. You might want to try advertising it on the slowtwitch triathlon forum as well, probably get more interest over there.

There's also a Softride Owners FB group that you might consider joining and advertising there.

The bike popped up on Craigslist last night for what I thought was a pretty decent price. Crappy pics and not much info, I wanted it for the wheels and tires. I made a deal with the seller before finding out the wheels are 650's. A deals a deal and I wasn't going to back out. I'm working today and I figured it would sell fast so I jumped on it without doing any research.

I always wanted a softride to turn into a city beater.

What are the wheels? I may be interested, but if youre selling the frame theyll probably go with it

I might be interested, especially if the beam is a different stiffness than the one on my Serotta beam bike. I also have a Tri Colorado frame that I've never built due to not getting around to building 650 wheels for it.

Whats the size? Good question, how the heck do you measure these things? Did a little reading and mostly says they are very adjustable, I don't know. Not sure on the wheels either. I bought it late last night and had to work today, so I haven't had time to really check it out. If someone wants just the frameset I don't need the wheels.

I would check size by setting saddle setback and heights to what the prospective buyer needs, then checking to see if the desired reach and bar height can be achieved with a "normal" stem.

When you have a chance, check the bottom of the beam for a model sticker. It should have model number and max. rider weight. Mine says 240 lb. for road use. I always thought I'd like to try a softer one as I weigh under 150.

Small market but there is a group of people that love them.
I love the classifieds here, but in this case you may reach a bigger audience on flea bay. Like someone mentioned slow twitch may also be an option.

This is definitely a case of value is what someone is willing to pay. I think they are cool but wouldn't take the time to build it up if you gave it to me, but the right person that has been looking may pay handsomely.

It's probably worth what you paid for it. That's how much I'd list it for in the classifieds, plus shipping.

Seriously, list it on the Facebook group.
