Im a cargo shorts and T-shirt guy when hanging around the house.

My sister in law got me 2 of the Lululemon 5 year T's for Christmas...which has ruined me/turned me into a T-shirt snob. Unfortunately they run 50 dollars a shirt.

Curious what else is out there that I may be missing.

Merino. As much as I like all my stuff from the good Vermonters at Ibex, Icebreaker makes some great clothes:

P.S. I only buy them on sale. ;)

Check out "think geek" for their clever T's. A fun look even if it isn't what you are after.

A black t-shirt and jeans are my official, non-work uniform. :) My $10 Old Navy t-shirts seem to work fine. Perhaps I just don't know better...

I like nice American Apparel t-shirts. Bonus is that most bike branded t-shirts these days are printed on American Apparel t's. I'll be doing some new Zank shirts soon I hope on American Apparel.

I rather like the Mossimo cotton/poly heather tees that appeared last year at Target. So much that I bought every color that wasn't black or white.

Thin, fitted, and thus far seem to be hard-wearing.

Oh and cheap. (< $10, once 2 for 10 on sale)

I've got a pair of their yoga pants. They are the jam for yoga-ing. Not even kidding.

But back to the OP: J Crew pocket tees on sale at end of season. Super comfortable, last awhile and in a variety of single colors, you can scratch whatever itch comes up.

uniqlo airism shirts are my go to tshirt for pretty much everything.

they might not shape your pecs nicely like the lululemon but they cost $10 instead of $50.

My reaction when I opened the package was the same. Now, I make sure they are cycled through the wash and ready to go when I want them.

Last year I sold a couple of tees from my 45-year collection, which I started while I was a roadie for a San Francisco rock band (http://sonic.net/~ckelly/Seekay/sons_welcome.htm). One, a concert tee from the 1969 Atlanta International Pop Festival (http://s419.photobucket.com/user/repackrider/media/Miscellaneous%20images/shirts/atlanta_international.jpg.html?sort=3&o=3) went for $700. The other, a 1969 Fillmore East shirt (http://s419.photobucket.com/user/repackrider/media/Miscellaneous%20images/shirts/fillmore.jpg.html?sort=3&o=8)only given to performers, went for $400.

My favorite, of course is no contest:

Just bustin yur chops. My wife swears by their stuff and the few items from there I've tried on while at the store are very well made, just not my style.

IMO......American Apparel t's are legit and super comfy. I too am cargo shorts, Tshirt and flips kinda dude but am victim of having 65 t shirts in closet and have the same 3 or 4 on rotation.....and those just happen to be my AA shirts......go fig

Put me down for a few. My blue and black Zanc t-shirts you printed are my favorite, I wear them all the time. Hope the design will be a bit different so it does not look like I always wear the same shirt.

Just to address the OP, I usually work out in wool t-shirts (Ibex, Icebreaker, etc.) but I once wound up at the gym without a t shirt and bought one of those Lululemon (fancy gym, least offensive grey shirt they had) and it was pretty comfortable. So, not my taste, but it did the job.

American Apparel 50/50 are soft and durable. It's all I wear now. Just don't get the heather grey. They are 95/5 and shrink like a mother...

I need to go check these out. I could use a good, inexpensive supply of plain tshirts for the summer.

Yeah, even something a simple as a t-shirt can be all over the map. I try to buy made in USA clothing and it doesn't cost too much more. Or as is in the case of Everlane, it costs pretty much the same as foreign-made.

Everlane: Everlane Tees & Polos (https://www.everlane.com/collections/mens-tees)
T-shirts are made in Los Angeles, CA, USA

Left Field NYC (Hipster Alert! Danger! Danger!): Left Field tube tee 2-pack (http://leftfieldnyc.com/products/left-field-tube-tee-2-pack-heather-grey-crew)
T-shirts are made in da Bronx, NYC, USA

And for a dash of hedonism, I have a weakness for japanese fashion and goods: Blue in Green Soho: Full Count Indigo Tee (http://blueingreensoho.com/site/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=shop.flypage&product_id=15696&category_id=&manufacturer_id=34&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=62)
Made in Japan

I own all of these items and have been a customer of these businesses for at least 5 years or more. I have mentioned them before here in this forum. Try to buy USA made stuff. It doesn't cost that much more but you have to seek them out to buy them rather than dropping into Target on your way home. It is worth it to do this.

Digging it. Thanks for the tip. 100% agree on buying American when the quality is equal. I live in T shirts so I'm psyched to check these out.

If you want vintage cycling t-shirts, Chuck Schmidt has a large selection:

Broken down into 9 categories, I like his brands shirts:

+1 on this, 50/50 shirts are all I wear now, and yes the heather gray shrink up quite a bit

A few birthdays back (or was it x-mas?) my sister gave me a "premium" t-shirt. Can't remember the brand but right out of the package it was the softest cotton I've ever felt in my life. Very nice. Sometimes you do get what you pay for.

Just dug through the dresser and found the t-shirt I mentioned above.

It's a "Red Jacket" like these: http://redjacketclothing.com/collections/uncommon-epics

Actually, it's the one below. I wouldn't have spent that kind of money on a t-shirt, but it sure does feel nice...

I am not trying to be a suck up on the forum, but a current favorite T is my Savile Road "heart of the Capitol district" shirt picked up on a visit To my parents... (Or maybe I am trying to be a suck up). Really nice heavy cotton that will last forever I think.

I have lots of T shirts. My favorite T shirt is the one I am wearing at the time I am asked. It is not so much about blend or brand, it's whats on the shirt, and the story behind it.

Target Mossimo crew/v-necks.

Super soft and seem to last really well.

$10 is the regular price, but they go on sale periodically for $8, and end up on clearance tables for <$2 sometimes. When they do, I buy whatever they have in my size.

If I mess one up wrenching on the bikes/cars, I just throw it in the rag bin and grab another one. I have stacks of them, haha.

Agreed. These shirts are great, seriously great shirts. I have a thicker neck, bigger shoulders and these shirts do not stretch out and look funky by the end of the day. At the end of the day, they look exactly like they did at the beginning of the day.

I am cheap, but one $50 shirt I want to wear vs. 5 $10 shirts I shuffle past is a better value.

Aside from that, I really like the American Apparel blended shirts as well.

I am picky about my t-shirts, especially the neck. The designs look cool, but the neck looks sloppy. Can't have that. :)
