You just haven't bought enough and therefore don't have enough RFBP's. (Rapha Frequent Buyer Points)

Once you're in the club you'll want no more.

Oh c'mon guys. It's only like a $30 premium for the Rapha style.

For what they do, you're getting off cheap if you like the, ahem, color way.

Agreed I like the collaboration because it makes great sense, but the mark up seems low.

Agreed I like the collaboration because it makes great sense, but the mark up seems low.agreed. B&O stuff is legit audiophile grade stuff. it's nothing close to being cheap and everything about being as good as they can make it. so, yeah, kinda like rapha.

doesn't mean i'll be buying a pair though.

I wouldn't call B&O legit audiophile grade. It's legit industrial design grade. If you want a great set of audiophile headphones get a Grado headphone. But that just the beginning...

Wow. That's actually a rather pretty machine. And the bike's not bad, either (ba-dump bump). I love how they've photoshopped out her other heel.

Seriously, tho', if that bike actually had an engine, and the faux-tank was real and held gas, that'd be a slick little scooter. Or if it were electric and the "tank" was all batteries. If I were the company, I'd seriously look into how to motorize that thing.

That's what I was about to say.B&O is not bad but when it comes audio nerds it's not even ever mentioned. The audio world like the bike world goes very deep and b&o is barely scratching the surface.

They are cute pink perforated headphones though

B&O isn't "audiophile audio," it's "fashion audio" or "designer audio." The sound quality is decent, but the designs are sleek and generally well-made. B&O is a much more logical company for Rapha to do a product tie-in with than say, Grado, Sennheiser, Beyerdynamic, Ultrasone, etc. The same B&Oheadphones are only about $30 less, so for $30 extra dollars one gets a pink cord and some other pink/Rapha accents.

I've heard that Rapha is considering expanding into a clothing/lifestyle brand, and not just a cycling clothing/lifestyle brand. And Rapha has done fashion tie-ins in the past (Paul Smith, etc.).

Maybe they could partner up with Silca and Tom Brady to make a special edition sports equipment pump?*

* That pumps up to a maximum pressure of 13lbs

Exactly. Fashion over function.

hah. of course someone would correct me on the audiophile reference. such people argue almost as much as cyclists do. :fight:

ok, maybe audiophiles don't care about B&O, but my point is they're not crap headphones. and that both companies focus on making high end products that are stylish.

well they are not crap but at that price range you can get something much better. And you are definitely right about audiophiles. I got out of that game, too expensive and did not feel much difference btw a pair of $400 headphones and a pair of $2000 headphones. I guess the same can be said for bikes though

Maybe I am a victim of their marketing, but Rapha is to this day the only jersey I've ever bought that 1.) doesn't make me out to look like I am a sponsored rider, and 2.) has held up wash after wash without even the slightest appearance of aging.

I have owned the Club jersey for a while now and I think that it was $150 very well spent.

I roll with assos bibs because they are the best I've ever used. But assos' jerseys are so awful looking. I don't even know where to begin.

But to be fair when I saw this collab I didn't understand it. Over the ear headphones from a cycling company does seem a bit conflict of interests.

I don't know about the rest of the folks on the forum, but having people confuse me with a sponsored rider is one of my less likely problems in the world.

But the pad is made from the Softshell jacket material, so its sweat resistant from the small spot where it contacts the top of my head. And the perforated pads will collect extra dust and goo over the standard B&O leather pads. Seems like it is worth the premium, no?

Never understood the headphones as a style accessory. For me, sound quality is what matters. I just replaced my old Sennheiser HD580s with HD800s. Way too much money but they sound amazing but look kinda goofy.

dang those are some expensive Senn's...

i went through a headphone phase and tried a bunch of models and even dabbled with amps.

i eventually settled on custom IEM and no amp. ultralight/small, comfortable, block pretty much all ambient noise, and can wear them and sleep in them if needed around the clock...great for long haul flights.

i prefer speakers any day though...

I prefer speakers as well, I have Linkwitz Orions (http://www.linkwitzlab.com/orion_challenge.htm), but sometimes you just need headphones. Plus, it can make old recordings sound new as you hear things that even the best speakers tend to gloss over. The room has a tremendous effect on what you hear and headphones remove that completely.

You're reacting as if it's a joke.

For the people that brought you African hair-sheep leather gloves and yak leather shoes, bringing just the right feeling of flatness to your base layers is serious business.

Playlists I hope Rapha makes so I can jam to it on my Rapha headphones

1. Epic Ride
2. Gentleman's Race
3. For the love of pain
4. All I see is . . . . pink
5. Hard Men
6. Alp de sans helmet

I mean even the best headphones are moot without good tunes
