OT Recommend heavy duty goggles for weedwacking

Ok, my oakley m frames aren't quite cutting it when it comes to serious weedwacking eye protection. I wear a stihl ear muff/combo with face shield and oakley's and the crap thrown up by my stihl brush cutter still gets in my eyes (visited my eye doc this am for issues with debris).

Anybody else have this problem?? I'm thinking military type goggles??

Regular goggles will fog up.

You might try to run the weedwacker so that it is cutting and throwing debris away from you -- the part of the rotating line that is doing the work is moving away from you.

Maybe some ski or motocross goggles would work given how the foam seals around the eye area.

I am sure that Stihl make a decent goggle?? We also have some DEWALT googles we use for blowing off equipment that seem to do the trick...

I have my staff use the same set up with the Stihl hemet/visor/ear protection combo...

Why not try a full face shield? Should have pretty good coverage and breathability.

I have been issued multiple sets of ballistic goggles to include Wiley-X, ESS, and revision. ESS makes the best ballistic goggles I have and I recommend them above all else.

There's an ANSI standard for protective goggles regarding impact protection; i.e safety glasses. Buy one that meets the standard.

Anything that seals up well is going to fog. I have a pair of Uvex goggles that do better than most, but they still fog up after a while.

Does your machine not have a deflector on the back? That seems to catch most of the more dangerous debris on mine.
