I can't try the tyres before I buy. In fact, I can't even look at my Ottrot until tomorrow night to make an educated guess, by which time the tyres may well have been sold! So can anyone help me out?

Extremely unlikely. Even if you have a fork that could take that tire, I can't imagine any chance of it fitting in between the stays.

Most likely not. I'm running tires that measure a 'true' 25mm across on my Ottrott and at the chainstays there is only 2~3MM clearance on each side.

Ottrott

60 x 62 with an F3 fork, I run Michelin ProRace2's that are 700 x 25...Everyone says that they are a "true" 25 and I believe them as they are plenty beefy.

Point being, no, the tires you are looking at will not work with a bike set up for "road". I also doubt that if you use side pull "road" brakes that you would be able to get that fat of a tire through the pads.

Good luck!

No way...unless yours is a Ottrott CX.

is a cyclocross 28 tire...the dugast 28's seem a little tighter
than the tufo tires i have tried
...much snow, ice or mud
and they bog down pretty easily though.
