I have some early '90's Diadora laceups that I still wear and are the most comfortable shoe I've ever had. Now I'm looking for something new and I don't see a lot of options. Laceup, black, real leather (not microfiber), and need to work with Speedplays. The only shoe I've found so far is the Dromarti Race Black and they actually look almost perfect but I do like how my Diadoras have a leather "cover" the laces. Just looking to see what else is out there, everything seems to be only SPD compatible or fake leather.

Inside padding used to be black haha

Wow I had those same shoes a long time ago and also loved them.
I'm tempted by the Dromarti's as well but don't need new shoes now.

I have a pair of the Dromarti's in two hole and just love them, the most comfortable cycling shoes I have - by far - and I've got perhaps a dozen pairs including Specialized S-works, various Sidi's, various Lakes, Shimano, ...

I'm planning on getting a pair of three hole. I suspect that they might not be as stiff in the sole as e.g., the Specialized or Sidi's but I'm not mashing a 53x11 going for a field sprint and comfort wins every time.

I would describe them in one sentence: Imagine the most comfortable pair of leather shoes you've ever owned with a stiffer sole and cycling cleat.

Also, when I ordered them I got an email asking what other shoes I had and how they fit so they could get the sizing just right. I don't think they made them custom or anything I just think they wanted to be careful that I ordered the correct size.

The only downside, which matters not at all to me, is that the red lining bleeds onto socks if it gets wet. Small price to pay for comfort IMHO not to mention the red lining looks dead sexy with the black leather.

Yeah, the Dromarti's may be it. I like the Vittoria 76's but the microfiber upper is a deal breaker.

I know they are not leather but the Empires are really hard to beat. In looks, performance and comfort.

Why do makers of classic leather cycling shoes stop at size 47 ? Such a bummer.

Good find, the Muzzin's are sweet. I've never seen that store before. They have some nice clothing on sale as well. I may have to give them some of my money.

If you can get your head around the microfiber, many riders say that the Giro Empire is the most comfortable shoe that they have ever worn.

I know they are not leather but the Empires are really hard to beat. In looks, performance and comfort.
