Bought a pair of SKS longboard mudguards from Ribble about 9 months ago. Last week the fender had cracked next to the brake bridge. Knowing that SKS has a 5 year warranty, I sent Ribble an email, along with the picture of where it had cracked.

Today they reply me saying that because the brake bridge was installed in the wrong direction, and warranty was void.

I positioned the bridge that way initially to gain as much clearance as possible since it's quite tight.

I fail to see how the direction of the bridge would have changed anything, but someone can correct me if I'm wrong?? Ya ya I guess you get what you pay for in terms of service from online retailers. I just had an hard time tracking down these silver longboards.

Have you tried contacting SKS directly?

Can't you just go straight through SKS for the warranty? I was considering a pair of these for myself...might make me reconsider something like PDW and just shell out the extra coin..

I mean, the only thing I can think of is that the distance from the brake mount to the rear "mount" for is the longest, so youd want to shorten that as much as possible with the bracket facing that direction...but I dont seen it making enough of a difference to void a warranty....

will be watching to see what others thoughts are...

TBH, the SKS website is an abomination with no reference to warranty and/or customer service. There was a "contact" option which I tried about two weeks ago with absolutely no reply. If there's a specific warranty page someone could direct me to that would be great.

Very disappointing since I was quite happy with them and the quality up until this point. I considered the PDW metal ones as well, but the coverage was nowhere close to as good as the Longboards.
