Interesting story about the Barry Bonds - Mari Holden/women's cycling connection.

Good for Bonds,as for Peps, he was singled out while others skated. Anyway alls well that ends well. http://www.mccoveychronicles.com/2015/4/22/8471291/barry-bonds-appeal-obstruction-of-justice

Wow, I would have never thought Bonds was capable of doing anything good for others. Kudos to him. Whether it is truly altruistic or as a gesture to impress his girlfriend, I don't care.

Thanks for posting. I enjoyed the article and the way the online version scrolls over the pictures. Love the one of the team in dresses with their cycling arm tans.

One thing about Barry, as opposed to -7, is that beyond the doping discussion he seems to be genuinely reaching out to folks and no longer being an a$$. I am as surprised as anyone, but welcome back.

Last year 92014) I saw him at Sea Otter hanging around the Specialized mechanics area, then he was walking away - just him and 1-2 friends no entourage - I caught up and chatted for a bit. Frankly the only thing that made him stand out is that he is not a white guy other wise he would have just been another face (albeit taller) in the crowd.

I took a picture with him just to blow my brother in law away - this is a guy with a room full of signed balls, bats, jerseys, pictures. Picture with Bonds was unobtanium. That pic and another of me and Jerry Rice made his wall. Hahhahahaha

Antisocial personality disorder vs. narcissistic personality disorder. NPDs can still have some internal sense of right and wrong, and compassion for his fellow man. Lance, on the other hand.... probably not at all.

I'm not at the point where I can trust BB again but geez, what a great story. I hope he's really turned the page.

Very cool.

Great story, thanks for posting. Nice to see him make a positive in his post-baseball life.

I also liked how ESPN designed that story & pics as you scrolled through it.

Thanks, always happy to see womens racing get some attention.

So, "Barry is much leaner these days"...guess it must be all that riding.
