I'm getting a new disc all-road bike shortly. I've got some wheels built for it already-- White Industries CLD hubs to Pacenti CL25 rims, which I expect to run fatter tubeless cross tires on mostly. I'm considering getting another set of factory-built wheels to keep 28c slicks mounted to so I don't have to undo a tubeless setup every time I want to change tires. Ridiculous, I know. Here are my criteria:
Under 1600 grams
Ideally centerlock disc.
QR
11 speed Shimano road compatible
relatively stiff, tough, and easy to maintain (No Stans noodle rims).
$1800 or less retail.
So far I'm thinking Ksyrium Pro Disc is a frontrunner. Industry Nine, maybe. Not too stoked on American Classic quality as a rule. DT Swiss makes some pretty sexy wheels but to get them light you need to spend a lot of dough and get the carbon ones. The Reynolds wheels are not a bad option for cheaper carbon but I have heard no real feedback. Should I just build another custom set and forget about weight?
