Silly question?

My front brake chats quite a bit while the rear is totally silent. Funny thing is the rear on my primary bike is a bent OP with a pulled eyelet, I've put a few k's on which is totally quiet...Swapped brakes, trued wheels (front) changed pads 2x bikes 3x wheels. Is this normal? Or is my sample size too small?

Have, I got a bad front caliper adjustment? should I try different pads? Any help?

No, my friend no squeaking-

It sort of grinds but it's more like a heavy rubbing sound. Could the rims be dirty? or irregular?

check the headset play.

Headset is tight and I'm not getting any feedback from the column or rim ("joint")

It only freaks me out on long rides down hill. It only sounds like large volume leaky tire?

I had that when bits of stone and/or aluminum were stuck in my brake pads. I used a dental pick to get them out.

^^^ I second that, check your pads.

is the front hub smooth and tight? easy way to check is to swap the front wheel.

Sounds like some junk on the pads, metal, wee rocks..clean the rim, use a rough hand file to clean pads or get new pads.

The fine dental picks/probes that your dentist uses to seek out cavities between your teeth works great to pick out embedded bits of aluminum and rocks without losing any useful pad material.

Another dental pick user here. They work great!
