Would any knowledgeable forumites please tell me if I need one of these sleeves for an internal eps v2 battery installation?

Regardless of the battery I think you'll need that sleeve. Cable has to be routed through the BB eventually, no?

Battery can be wrapped in foam and placed in the seatpost or tube

Answered my own question with a google image search.

I find it odd that none of the campy tech videos I've watched references this part.

You need it if you are using Campy cranks with Campy BB cups.
It is not necessary of your BB covers the rotating spindle.
For example I've done a THM Clavicula crank/BB and an UltraTorque crank using a Praxis BB and the EPS BB sleeve was not needed.

That's the sleeve that surrounds the crank spindle as the wires are routed around the BB shell..so yes, for internal wiring or V2 internal, you do need this.
