Legend before 3D XL Dropouts?

Can anyone tell me when the 3D XL dropouts started showing up on the Legends? I saw a "new" Legend in a LBS but it did not have the dropouts.... just wondering....

I think it was around 2000. They originally showed up as 3D dropouts, and then became "XL" once they enlarged the "hole" in the ears of the dropout.

Your shop could be calling it new because no one has bought it for 5 years.

Thanks Dude. I have a 1999 catalogue which states that the Hors, Concours and Classique had the 3d dropouts, but in the stated features of the Legend it was not noted. It seems odd that they would not put the feature on the Legend... maybe a typo?

Anyway, I guess the frame could be 1999 or earlier.

My legend was estimated to be , by serotta , a 1998 and it has the 3D dropouts .

my legend 97 does not have the 3d drop outs, and this jives with what I thought and the posts, 3d drop outs were added in 98
