I've been thinking of getting a Brooks Cambium, but can't decide whether I should get the regular version or the carved version. Has anyone tried both? Thoughts?

Thanks in advance,
Tom

I can't quite speak to the carved version, but I can attest that the regular version is super comfortable.

Agreed. Picked up the 'race' version and am excited to try that out. Hoping it'll be just as comfy with not quite as bad a weight penalty.

I absolutely love my uncarved C17. Most comfortable saddle I've ever owned. I'm now wanting to try out the C15, not so much for the weight but because I get a little bit of thigh rub on longer rides with the C17.

The saddle has a good bit of flex to it, which is the reason some don't care for it. I would think the carved version may accentuate that. Just a thought.

Ridden the non carved one and liked it. Depends if your a carved saddle guy it not I think.

I usually ride an arione or tundra, so the non carved one would be right up my alley on an SS commuter

I just ordered a carved, I have the cambium 17.
My recent experience. I have had the cambium on my computrainer bike for the past year. I Have only had it on the road for about 100 miles, otherwise inside only, 1 hour at a time twice a week. Last week I rode 120 miles, 11,000 ft of gain using my cambium bike. I have been riding a Prologo nago evo plus for the past 2 years on my "regular" bike.
Incredible. No pain. I needed to tweek the tip of the saddle a bit off center but otherwise great ride. I went home and ordered a cambium carved for my regular bike.
I have the Davis Double Century in 4 weeks so I will be able to give it the full test. The cambium needs no break in time, another plus.

All this talk and I ordered a C15 to try out. The 17 is a very nice saddle. Hoping the nose is a bit narrower on the 15.

Anybody have one they don't like and want to part with? I've been riding nothing but Brooks Professionals for years but keep thinking I want to try something new. These just might be the ticket...

Picked one up today with the 20% coupon at Harris Cyclery. $139.96 with free shipping.

I picked the slate color. Now to find bar tape to go with such a unique saddle!

Have you tried the Brooks Pro Imperial with cutout? Just wondering.

I have left the Selle Anatomica camp....very comfortable...but too wide. Currently riding a B 17 N Imperial. Not sure yet how I like it. But Pro is a tad wider than B 17 N Imperial, but not as wide as a standard B 17 Imperial, it may be the ticket for me.

Being the macho stud that I'm not, I got the C17 women's model. I sit far back on the saddle, so I wanted to try the short nose. Works great.
I'd try the C15 if it was offered in a short version.

Way back I heard grumblings about shorts being chewed up by the rough surface. Has than been an issue for anyone?

No wear issues with any of my bibs so far.
