Today was the first time in years that I needed a tire boot.

clif bar wrapper or any plastic wrapper with a silvery backing works better than any dollar bill or premade tire boot.

i've scavenged trash (empty potato chip bags) off the side of the road before to use as boots. fixed the tire and kept going.

Fwiw you can make your own by cutting an empty 2liter bottle

I keep my stuff in a piece of a Tyvec usps bag. Works as a boot also. Way better than a bill.

I second the Tyvec UPS bag, though I think mine is Fedex :-). Actually, I don't carry a whole bag, just a rectangular section for use as a boot. I figure that way I can still buy the espresso with the $5 bill.

Never had to use it, but just in case ...
