Hello, I happened upon these. Never seen them before. Quality seems good, if not somewhat homebrewed. They say "Carbon" on them and that is all. No small lettering or anything.

I'm usually pretty good at ID'ing obscure parts or finding out things by searching the internet, but I can't seem to figure anything out about these.

Thanks in advance.

the quick release design leads me to guess a Terktro/TRP derivative.

older AX-lightness?

Doesn't look like any Tektro/TRP I've ever seen. The quick release looks too crude. Usually Tektro is pretty good about embossing some sort of model number on their brakes.

older AX-lightness?

That's a decent guess. All the AX I've seen are single pivot though.

Carbon wrapped al brakes. Looks very similar to Sampson Stratics Carbon brakes. Good bet they are from the same factory.

These look too chunky to be wrapped aluminum?

I'd be really surprised if these were all carbon. All the pieces are proportioned like aluminum, just with a cosmetic carbon top layer.

Is there any advantage to wrapping al in carbon or is it just for looks?

shape makes me think vaguely of tektro or trp.
barrel adjusters make me think ambrosio.
the weightweenies site should know

I'd look at the places where the adjuster barrels screw in and on the insides of the pad adjustment slots. There you ought to be able to tell if the material is AL or CF+resin. If it's AL in those spots but still has CF wrap around there, then I'd say the whole thing is AL with a CF wrap. (which is what I would bet they are, looking from here) If so, it's 99.99% marketing gimmick.
