Lets all give a jovial Hazzah to Manet!

Last night I drove up to Jersey city to stay at his (awesome) place and race in central park this morning. The race was a good time, as always, and was sure to offer a lot of New York attitude and, as a result, a lot of spectacular new york wipeouts. Those guys get so aggressive they don't know whats good for them.

Fortunately Manet and I kept the rubber side down. Coming into the final Km someone hit a parking cone and it bounced under my wheel and continued on its way into the middle of the pack taking everyone down behind me. It sounded like someone threw a grenade in the middle of the pack - i hate that sound.

I sat up before the sprint as all the money was gone, along with my upgrade points. Next time...next time.

So anyway, a public thank you to Manet!! See you soon buddy.

Dude:

Sounds good, especially the part about making it over the cone. I once ran over a water bottle at PIR going about 30 on the front straight counterlockwise and the pack behind me was not so lucky. Nothing like that sound.....Awful. Wish I knew which guy couldn't get the bottle back where it belonged.

BTW, the legend runs great, straight, true and solid. Its over in Bend and will get a lot of work this summer. Any luck on jobs in Ptown?

I was in a race and a poodle attacked the field on a decent. It made all the sounds you describe, but what amazed my more is high that poodle got flipped in the air.

I hate that sound. I remember hearing that sound as a race was heating up (good to be near the front), looking back and seeing a (riderless) bike bouncing above the heads of the riders!

Chrisroph -
good news. I am glad you are having fun with it. I actually ended up taking a job out here on the east coast. I was out in portland for a few days in mid-march scoping it out. We got up to the columbia river gorge for a day, and walked up to the japanese garden also. Such a beautiful city.

I wish i found a job out there but it looks like it wasn't in the cards....yet.
