Its usually good for one compliment as someone comes by my fat butt climbing up Tunnel or one of the other local climbs.

Changed a bit since that initial build. SR RD, compact Chorus crank to save my knees up the hills here. SSCs were replaced by non-skeleton Records for clearance. And Hyperons. Winter stem was a quick swap from the grammo once Eric finished it.

Here's my only all-steel Ibis Spanky.

I bought it used, and had Joe Bell repaint it a few years ago. And even though that repaint could have been any color, I loved the original color.

And so Joe painted it a shade of blue he called "Pepsi Blue."

I like the looks of blue bikes, not a deep navy, but usually lighter and even powder blue with accents like red and orange.

I have even considered having my RB-1 painted blue.

Regardless I will get a blue bike this year or paint one that way and I want ideas.

I love Ibis bikes. If I could keep only one, it would be my ti Ibis Sonoma.

Since sold, but I always loved the Cannondale Track blue. (And no more comments on the saddle position! That was just a poorly-staged temporary post & saddle for the photos, not my riding setup.)

here's the blue ones. The Kish gets a different wheelset, seat post and dirty yellow tape. need to shoot that one again. My legend when i first got it, now different wheels and seat post as well.

1982-ish Ron Cooper. Repainted by Ed Litton. He called the color "oriental blue."

1961 Bianchi Competizione. Also repainted by Ed Litton. He called this color "true blue.

As you can see, they are very similar shades. The Cooper is a hair lighter and "pops" a little bit more in sunlight. I love 'em both.
