If I was going to watch the TdF live this year (which I’m not, been there, done that) Col de Chaussy is where I’d be. The pro photogs are probably already having wet dreams over the possibilities and when they’re on site, they’re going be nuts trying to figure out from which perspective they want to shoot. The spectators are going to be going crazy too. Can’t imagine a better place for watching the tour. Great call on the part of the route planners, though another aspect of me wishes they’d ignored the road’s siren call. I liked having the road and the col sleeping in the anonymous category. I have a suspicion that the best photos of all from the road up through the lacets won’t even be shot; pictures looking down at the crowds heading down after the race has passed and the road’s opened. Could be a solid stream of people flowing down through the switchbacks. An all but vertical shot looking down on them could be wild.

velo pal, did you just come out of hibernation?
Boy, do I miss your epic write ups and photos!

Can we, the paceline community, hire you to do an "exclusive"?

Thanks for the heads up on this one!

Getting a second-once-in-a-lifetime  riding opportunity in the Alps in September and this one should be on the list!

Don't see where to put all the fans and support vehicles? Me either. Everything but the road seems near vertical.

Also it is very diminuitive in person.. the pros will get up it in a few blinks.
