I had the pleasure of meeting Bob Roll a couple of years ago, here in CO, at a local bike shop. Based on his TdF on-air personality and appearance, I was expecting a goofy, less-than-fit former pro. Instead, when I met him in person, he was exceptionally courteous, cordial, and engaging. As for his fitness, Bob Roll is a stud. He was in great shape and very fit and lean. I guess the old adage..."the camera adds 10 lbs", must be accurate. We spent most of our conversation discussing skiing...he and I both share a love for the sport. He talked about what he was doing when he shattered his leg in Southern CO a couple of years ago. He appears to be a great guy, based on the limited interaction I had.
