HI Guys, I'm Richard, new to this forum, and thought I'd introduce myself. I've just taken delivery of a Fierte IT, so I've joined the club, so to speak.

I do a range of different riding, from commuting (now my old bike can become a full time commuter), a little racing, time trials and ultra distance (Race Across Oregon), plus (most favorite of all), riding tandem with my wife.

I probably won't post much, since you guys are much more knowledgable than me, although I do know a thing or two about riding in the rain!

Richard Seton, Portland, Oregon.

Hi Richard! Did you enjoy the rain today?

Hu! Couldn't even test ride my new bike. Still, today was a 'day off the bike', so no problem.

Tomorrow, on the other hand, won't be any fun at all. More rain.

Hi Richard! Did you enjoy the rain today?

Well, I suppose I'll have to ride it first!

Certainly went well on my test rides! But this one is set up differently to the test bikes.

Nothing other than that, and a reference to an earlier thread, and a massive performance in the Giro d'Lombardia. Actually nothing to do with a Fierte, but cool nonetheless.

Best

What an idiot. His bars are too narrow, his seat is too low, and his top tube is too short. No wonder he never won a big race.

The dry look at speed. Never looked better.

Just kidding...remember his last Italian classic win. He sneaked up on Argentin? Remo or Lombardy...I can't remember?

Is it this one? Or, the second photo? Or the third? I'd love to see him hook Boonen in his prime. Clash of the titans.

But Sean Kelly was worth it. Was the Fierte responsive? Did it dig a bit in hard cornering? Or, was it limp, like an aluminum vitus? Oh, I'm afraid I'm drifting again..(reaches for Ritalin..)

Best, and welcome-

richard, whatever you do, don't let lack of knowledge stop you from posting. 99% of folks here, myself very included, never do. it's what makes this fun...and educational. welcome.

That last picture of The King is probably the best argument there can be for not wearing a helmet.

one of the true greats.
the bottom phot he is stealing milan san remo from moreno argentin... whom he caught on the descent from the poggio and totally surprised before the finish.
a great cap to a great career.
he still swears that he lost the world championships ( he never won ) to greg lemond in 1989 because he fitted a 13-23 freewheel and he ran out of gear in a 53-13.
my thinking is...i use a 52-12... the jerk thinks i might have won if i was there.

Re Responsive. It certainly was - that's pretty much why I bought it. That, and comfort.
