Not an April Fool's joke.

Very interesting study.
So my occasional post-ride stop for a burger and fries isn't such a bad idea after all…

Hmmm, must be an April fools joke. However if it is not I would be interested to see how this study played out over say 6 months or a year as opposed to two days. :)

I would assume that PubMed wouldn't post April Fools jokes at all ever. And if they did they certainly wouldn't post them on March 26th.

It only measures glycogen recovery. And it does so with a sample size of 11.
This type of science might help generate hypotheses, but it doesn't generate conclusions worth a damn.

Nothing like a stack of pancakes & syrup with a side of scrambled n' bacon after a Sat morning ride.
...Otherwise I couldn't imagine eating a meal like that.

Well apparently my screwed up Comcast connection robbed me of my post.... I thought I'd previously posted something along the lines of:
A little fast food here and there is totally fine... just like a little arsenic here and there is totally fine. Not gonna kill you. Today, anyway.
I'll stick with my avocados and apricots!

Ah, I didn't look at the date. Nevertheless I am still highly skeptical of any "study" that short. The research was conducted over two days with a week in between, one time the participants ate fast food, one time they didn't. All the study really says it that after eating fast food after a workout, once, these top athletes did not see any significant increase, or decrease, in their recovery... Astounding!
But seriously, Let's see what happens after one year.
Full disclosure: I know recovery products are kinda a scam and I don't use them. There are plenty of healthier (and cheaper) options out there. "Research" like this just bugs me :)
