View Full Version : In Scottsdale for the week....

.....for the week and my GF let me bring my bike to keep up on my training regiment. Have ridden a couple of routes in my visits; Usury Pass, Bartlett Lake, South Mountain....any other suggestions?

Also would like to do a group ride or two in the character of 18-22mph(pulling) and 23-28(drafting), any suggestions?

Bicycle Ranch (along with dozens of other places) has group rides on the weekend, maybe weeknights too. I'm a solo rider, so don't know, for sure. PV has great riding, as tough or as easy as you wish.

Where are you staying, and do you plan on riding from there?

Make sure you hit Greasewood Flat while you're there. Great place to get a burger, etc. Right up the road from Troon North.

Troon north? Out your front door. Done. There was a ride that took off on Saturday in north Snottsdale (Landis?) that went around to Fountain Hills, out to Bartlett lake then back down right past Troon. That's the one you want. Hang on.

Check with Bicycle Ranch for the Saturday morning ride. Tortilla Flats has poor pavement and lots of traffic. Usery Pass Road to 87 is very nice.

This is the best time of year to do T Flats. Snow birds are fleeing and it's too cold for water recreation.

Bartlett Lake, Seven Springs, Carefree Foothills & Father Kino are all up Pima Road from you. Great riding.
