Just read over at RBR that Brian Maxwell had a heart attack and died a couple of days ago. He was only 51. I remember him when he was damn good marathon runner, 2nd place at Boston and Canadian national champ. For most people that would be enough but he went and invented the PowerBar and changed the way we all eat. Just really sad to hear of his passing.

My local paper had a story about his death. He had five children. The article did not mention their ages, but with five kids I am sure that some of them were young. The article also discussed how he and his wife started the company in 1986 selling their powerbars out of their kitchen and sold the company to Nestle in 2000 for $375 million.

Just goes to show that if it can happen to an athlete of HIS caliber it can happen to any of us. 51 years old...thats WAY to young to go. Very tragic. Jeff N.
