Anyone have any experience regarding the True max capacity for a 10 speed Sram Red rear der? (not the WiFli version)
The Sram spec sheet states 28T however my experience with Shimano leads me to believe that a slightly larger cassette just may be possible. I'd like to run a 10 speed 12-30 Ultegra cassette if possible.
thanks

Done it. Works. 50/34 with 12-30.
Turn the B screw a little.

Any chance the 10 speed Sram 12-32 would also work with a few more turns of the B screw?
Or wishfull thinking.

It depends on the chainring size difference.
The SRAM red short cage unit will clear a 32 cog in most cases, but it may not be able to wrap all gears for a 50/34 chainring combo.... 50 - 34 + 32-12=36.....that's a huge number to ask of a short cage.
I have short cage Red der on an 11-32 on a 46/36 and it works beautifully. 46-36+32-11= 31
