View Full Version : Powdercoater in Los Angeles?
Looking for recommendations for powdercoater to change out my black Kogswell. Does not have to be superb quality but looking for better results than what I can do with a rattle can!
On a related note I'd be curious to hear what's prices others have paid. A few phone calls here yielded $120-$250.
Thanks!

I've never had anything powdercoated but did get quotes once --- $120-$200 seemed to be the range. I had frame painted for that last year too --- not JB quality, but the dude only charged me $100.
be sure to post before/after pics!
I've had a bike done @ Olympic in OC. Two thumbs up, priced well good quality.

Recently took some furniture to Millennium in South El Monte. Was quoted a very good price compared to other LA area powder coaters. Saw some bikes in the lobby when I went there of the Fixie variety.

Don't expect any type of bike chat or bike appreciation at either, they'll look over the frame for anything that needs to be removed (headset cups/seat clamp bolts etc) and place it on a floor or hang it on a hook with a bunch of other metal things. Very industrial settings lots of other stuff going on.
I'd look at available colors in advance, it's funny how standing in front of a wall with hundreds of colors to choose from can disorient you, especially when there is someone standing next to you waiting for you to make your choice.

I'll third Olympic. They did a great job on my buddy's Univega. He drove down from Glendale to get it done.

A & C Bike Shop in Pico Rivera does quality work. They also include the strip and build as part of the price so they'll take off your parts and then do a full build after the frame is painted.
If you're pressed for time or don't do your own wrenching, a great option.
$120 out da door
