Promo/marketing campaign from Manual for Speed.

Still some interesting bikes.

I want every word of that release to be true, and for it to have actually been penned by Kanye himself. There was a link between Brooklyn Machine Works and Pharrell and Jay-Z, didn't remember Kanye being part of it.

Anyway, both nice bikes!!

Kanye had something of a non-sequitur tweet a while back that he makes awesome decisions in bike stores. TenSpeedHero put it on a t-shirt I've got in the drawer.

There's just enough hint of this being true that I'm totally in your camp.

Or that he says that the next winner of the TdF didn't really deserve it - it should have gone to Beyoncé.

But, yeah, regardless, both of those bikes are amazing, and the saddles, tape, and top cap/bar ends that you can actually purchase are pretty sweet also.

Can we talk about the white SV/Enve stem? Is that actually textured or is that painted to look that way? That is awesome!!

Really?! Which one is for Emiliano? Since I bought Emiliano's English not too long ago, and know that we ride the same size, maybe I'll just put my claim in on this one right now. The wait time should be about as long as getting in the custom queue for new anyway!

"Rather than using contrasting colors for branding, our ghost graphics are three dimensional and painted in the same color as the frame, so the definition comes from the way the light hits the edges, rather than being a different color."

very cool, id love to see how they create this effect.

well, ok

Over the years I've seen a number of women cyclists, but never seen any wearing those shorts while riding. Those ladies must also be cyclists, so I'm assuming it must a new trend that has not yet made it to the Heartland.

I've also wondered - I'll have to ask them next time I stop by. But is it as simple as paint over vinyl (or other decal/sticker material)? After all, they seem to imply that the main point of "Ghost" is the way the light hits the edges of the same-color raised surface, so was this simply a decision to create a new look by painting over decals - clever if true, because it is probably also less expensive to produce.

thats the only logical method i can think of...though the amount of time it would take to get all those decals applied perfectly...

Certainly  in the case of this particular bike. But I've not seen another Ghost job with so many 3D sections.

I also wonder if they have developed a method of "printing" sheets of material sized to the top tube, or down tube, or whatever, with the desired "decal" sections pre-cut, but not completely separated from the sheets. Lay the sheet in place around the tube, rub the decal sections on to adhere, remove the rest of the sheet. I know this method is used in other applications.

Oh yea, they definitely have to do it like that, like laying tile, no way can they align each and every little square. You can see how they cut the decals to shape at the welds..that last one on the top tube as it hits the head tube is just ever so slightly imperfectly aligned...

OK, now you've ruined it for me. I'm not even going to bother asking Emiliano if he will sell it to me when he is done with it.

Those are probably pieces of decals or vinyl and then they paint over the top, their paint jobs are so good that I really doubt those "accents" are going to get lose ever.

Amazing job, that proves that something I thought years ago while painting the bertoni it works hehehe :)
