I want to get a 3-place bike stand for my herd. Anyone know a decent one out there? Something like the Swagman style would be great. Maybe this one is a good choice?

I have something similar but for 2 bikes and it kind of sucks. I also have a feedback single stand and will probably buy another as I think you can connect them. The feedback stand is awesome.

I have that silver one, but I've also made them from PVC.

The silver one looks nice, but the wheel slots are too wide for most of my bikes, so I have to give some thought to how I angle the tires in the slot to keep them from leaning on each other.

The PVC one I made a long time back worked great, since I could make it to my exact spec.

I'd do PVC again if I had to pick one. Hell, I may do it again to replace the metal one.

I will have to try the PVC effort. If its too light I can always add lead shot to the inside to weigh the unit down more.

I read some reviews on this stand and I wasn't crazy about what I read regarding if your tire goes flat which mine do occasionally after a ride. Just something to be aware of on this product.

If you're going with something like in the original pic, try to find one where the width between the tires supports can be adjusted. I know at least one company makes a rack like this, I just can't recall who.

I've got two of them, had them for years, and they do hook together if you wanted to have them side by side. No problems, easy to store, and I've not had a problem with flat tires in them. they aren't as sturdy w/o air, but no problems. Back tire only is always best.
i like them, will continue to use them.

I like the EVO, but take care not to abuse the rubber pad.

I would never buy that three bike stand proposed. it locks you into a particular configuration and I dont care for the design and getting the hoops up against my frame spokes rd etc.

OTOH I have multiple feedback/ultimate rakk stands - if the tire loses air the bike just leans. a road bike its not an issue. a mtb being heavier the lean is more but not enough to fall out. I do not hook them together so I can slide/push them around the garage floor with my foot as well as stagger them to "stack" the bikes closer. currently the four deployed are racking a full suspension mtb tandem, my daughters mtbs and my wifes commuter. the road bikes are hung on pulleys or on a freestanding floor stand. I like to carry a rakk with me when the bikes travel. nicer than leaning against the side of the car. you can also insert using front wheel for a bike with fenders. and of course its only tire rubber touching the stand. so no scratched wheels etc from the rack.

I like the evo also but I had already bought rakks

for my purposes either would work but given my daughter and wife are racking their bikes...its far easier for me to tell them just roll the back wheel in than be assured they lift the bike and insert into evo properly, especially with commuter panniers etc. plus, you can't push the evo around the floor with your foot as easily. I mainly thought to buy one when my cx is in full fender mode. but racking by front wheel in the rakk is fine.

I like the feedback rakk. Here's how I have three hooked together. I used to have my trail bike hooked in there to, but my gf banished it to the garage.

I have a bunch of these and they work very well with a variety of wheelsets although some arent great with it. I had a couple feedback stands and I was underwhelmed.
BTW the raleigh logos come off...

I also use this one. Works perfectly and is very stable.

I'm another user of these, and they work fine. I also think they're better with the back wheel in the rack.

Do you have to alternate the bikes like you did for the three to fit?

I know the OP asks for a floor rack recommendation. Just want to throw a wrench in the mix and have him consider the option of a "moveable" rack on wheels like the one offered at Harbor Freight - cheap, mobile, instant working stand, take up min. space.

If you link them together, it might need to be that way with wide bars. Of course, you don't have to link them. They stand alone just fine.

chris nails it. if you dont link them, then stagger would "stack" them closer together.

Yup, I run all 42 cm bars and they won't fit side by side with the racks linked in together, but they will when I alternate rear and front wheels stored as pictured.

As mentioned above, if you keep the racks separated and stagger them, then you can load them in all the same way instead. Or maybe if you run 38 cm bars they'll fit with the racks linked together.
