{THIS IS NOT A FOR SALE AD}

Looking for pricing advice for selling locally/online. I've had a few offers of $1200 on eBay but have held out for more. Any advice one way or another?

Here are the specs/pics
Converted this Vaya to di2 and put some flat bars on there to make it easy to get around and commute to work. The Alfine hub is just awesome, heavy as hell but awesome. The only thing I would love to add is a gates carbon drive belt system.

I've added fenders and a light for commuting. Part of me wanted to keep the drop bars and get the Alfine di2 drop bar shifters, but Dang ($$$$) they are expensive and the flat bar and trigger shifter with lcd is awesome. Super smooth ride, easy shifting and super low maintenance with the single front chainring. This was just a fun build and I love riding it.

(Bike is currently for sale on eBay)

If selling locally, wait until people start thinking serious about RAGBRAI, and position it as perfect for this year's gravel loop.

But it seems to me like an ideal commuter, so I'd think about selling to somewhere it could be ridden year-round.

Vayas are an underrated entry in Salsa's portfolio, imo. Probably because it's good at so many different things. Hard to categorize.

That said, a typical Vaya buyer might be a bit intimidated by Di2. If it were me, I'd move the electronics to another bike and market this as a simple, reliable, comfortable, all-roads/all-weather commuter.

GLWS!

$1200 seems about ballpark to me.

+1 --- -- as cool as a bike as it is, I'd guess a smaller group of potential buyers. Sometimes better to cut a deal and move on.

Very nice bike and would make a killer commuter! Wouldn't you have to modify the frame though to allow for a gates drive? Or is there some new option that doesn't require an opening in the frame to feed the belt through?

Is that Alfine 8 or 11 (sorry if I missed it)?

If 8, $1,200 seems to me about as good as you'll get (or, as much as I'd personally pay). If 11, $1,200 is a very good price, and you should be able to do a bit better . . . but not a whole lot better, considering you can get a brand new complete Alfine 11 di2 drop bike at $1,900.

Just my opinion, but I've spent a lot of time at Joe Bike and other shops/online riding, comparing, pricing, etc. Alfine di2 bikes.

$1200 seems pretty fair to me. Better to sell on a forum than ebay. Ebay eats a chunk of your money.
