Mavic SSC Groupset Take off / Resell Advice

I'm considering buying a bike and it has a Mavic 840 Groupset (8 sp with index dt shifters).

Considering the I bike as a whole is at the upper limit of what I want to spend I am thinking about taking it off and selling it. What could I expect to get?

On the other hand if I do decide to keep it, how is the shifting quality? I'm coming from a shimano/sram background and currently have 10s red.

Not sure what it's worth. I have this group as well. Rode it for years, then put it on a bike for my daughter... she still uses it. It is a great shifting group and has my favorite brakes ever... I love that you can switch between indexed and non-indexed. The only thing I never liked was the dinner plate crankset. I run a Stronglight 105 instead, keep the dinner plate on a shelf.
