Hey group, I picked up this serotta last summer and am interested in the history of it. Don't ask how much I paid for it because you'll be sick to your stomach. It's reynold Colorado concept, but I can't figure out how to place it in a year.

I am looking for a replacement stem, this one is missing it's cap. So I'm newer to the forum and can't post in the classifieds yet. But I'm looking for a decent but not super expensive 85mm stem. Thanks!

This may be more appropriate, then you can easily get the stem angle you need (looks like 0 (90) degrees.

FYI I had that same frame, blue with white decals, threaded fork. I bought it as a frameset over Christmas '98. Pretty sure the model year is '97 or '98. Should be a 7 or 8 in the serial number.

Thanks, yea I'm looking for a quill I like the look. I'm currently looking for a nitto or cenelli. The guy had a wire cap where the quill cap goes, and I just removed it and it's so rusty in there :(

No 85mm at Bens cycles. Any other sites I should check besides jenson and nashbar?

I figured it was a 97' 98' sweet bike, I got it for a steal!

I remember it rode pretty stiff for a steel frame but it was very responsive, especially climbing out of the saddle. Not much flex at all. If I recall the seat tube flared out at the bottom bracket like my Paramount.

Yes very responsive, one of the first things I noticed was how easily I could do climbs with it. It's probably my favorite bike so far, I went to pick it up and it fit be better than any bike I've ever ridden.

85 stem?? that short?? are you sure about that?? At that size at least a 100 or 110.

In the classified section you can find several quill stems, 3t and cinelli, honestly you have to go with a cinelli or a 3t 90's-80s quill stem because anything else will look like cr@p, like the one that is in the bike right now.

Good luck with the bike, looks super nice :D

ps: the saddle height is right or thats the saddle height the bike came with and later you will fix it?

I think a nice -17 degree quill stem would look just beautiful here. You might want to measure where your bars are now up/down and forward/back in order to figure what size to get in a -17 stem since your current one is 0 degrees.

I have a 3T stem with Serotta panto. It's laser etched I believe. Lemme know if you're interested.

No Cinelli stems other than Grammo(titanium) are 90 degree angle. And many are 26.4mm handlebar width. Those handlebars are 26mm. Nitto, some are but hard to find.

Long legs, short torso is my guess. That much SP showing and short, rise stem.

A bigger frame, with a longer headtube would be ideal-er but also longer top tube. IMHO.

Thats the reason i was asking about the fit, that frame as in the pictures is way too small, small at least 4 cm, bu all depends of the fit and how well it is. Seen long legged people and unless we are talking of a t-rex there is no way a guy at least 6 feet tall will have a torso and arms that short. IMO big chances are that the fit is wrong.

But well, is his problem after all :D
