I wish I'll be in such good shape when I hit 60, leave alone 80.
Nice idea for a birthday gift.

Not that uncommon anymore.

My dad, now in his 90's, is still skiing. And our standing joke is that he is never the oldest guy on the mountain.

Wonderful. He also has a great accent for the francophones/philes.
My parents are 73 and I wish they were that fit.

Terrific! I notice he don't mind using a triple.

Being able to ride at that age is my true wish for my golden years. Cycling is one of the few true lifetime sports.

It's my religion, I preach it all I can to whomever will listen. it has kept me focused and disciplined on my health and eating habits. I'll be 70 this week and I owe much of my health to cycling. I got out of condition in my late 30's to early 40's, overweight, high blood pressure,drinking/smoking. Woke up one morning, decided to make a change to my lifestyle (per my sons suggestion).
Went cold turkey gave up drinking/smoking/drugs/greasy foods of any kind, jumped back on a bike and haven't looked back.

My father will be 85 this year and still puts in 4-5000km in a season. He raced in the 50s in England and still has the passion... and he's got more bikes in the stable than me!

Cycling and swimming - two sports you can do till then end.

You will still be preaching this 20 years from now Bob. In advance; Happy 2nd 35th Birthday Bob.

Wow, that's fantastic. Every weekend, I feel like I'm going to pop an ACL just putting my boots on. I recently saw a video of a 97-year-old skiing at Alta and he looked and sounded great.

Yeah, so that is what French sounds like with an Italian accent!

My grandfather rode his bike nearly day on his way to swim in the sea until a year before he passed away. I love this kind of thing. Thank you!

One of my riding buddies will be 86 this summer. He rides approximately 6,000 miles per year - not fast, but steady. I'll be 65 this summer and hope I'm as capable in 20 years as he is. He's mentally sharp as a tack. Love the guy!

I ride with and ex-racer, from Italy. He is 78 and still going strong. Staying active is really the secret to staying healthy, both physically and mentally. Ridding always gives more back than the effort that we put in.

Cool. Our granddaughter went skiing today for her first time. She is 4 and skied at Bretton Woods NH. Many years in front of her.

Love it. Thanks for sharing.

Having just celebrated my third 20th birthday last year, I really hope I'll be riding to celebrate my fourth one, too.

Fantastic, I aspire to that!

Rode with a 73-yo gent this weekend; 46 miles and 6k' vertical of mixed terrain. While I suffered on my carbon HT 29er w/ a triple he was happily pedaling along on fully-rigid singlespeed 26" Voodoo, chatting the entire time.

Bad. Ass. and entirely awesome.

It's too wet
It's too windy
Back hurts
knee hurts
Tired
I'm too old
Uhhh...
The bike is patiently waiting. Soon I'll be out of excuses again.
It's Spring.
Thanks for posting.
