I fondled your frames---and your forks too. Douglas' was totally naked. The other two were primed--too bad--it's more fun to see them beore the cover-up. Joe Bell was on vacation so I slipped some BBs in the chainstays.

Nice--Dbrk's Sachs has internal cable in the TT.
Hmm, just my size--and dave T's too. Actually I think I could ride them all.

I wonder how many people cut themselves on Dave Kirks raised and pointy lugs?

I look forward to seeing them painted in all their glory.

yep, 1 Sachs and 2 Kirks. There were other Kirks for folks I didn't recognize and a drop-dead gorgeous Rivendell plus another Goodrich not to mention lots of old bikes like Paramounts, Bianchis, etc. for refinishing. It was fun to see two forks by different builders with the same lugs side-by-side.

I couldn't agitate him--he's on vacation. He's a good dad--Boy Scout leader, etc. and he took the family off to some time-share paradise.

How did mine look???

Different from the rest, yes?

All smooth and swoopy?

Full report, please...

Also, was there any kind of time frame?

Thanks,

Steve

yep, I only met his wife a couple of months back at the Eisentraut, Bayliss, Holland, Bell, dinner but she was very nice as was Mrs. Eisentraut. Mrs. Robb thought so too. Or maybe it was the margaritas. Actually I was fine with them but then Albert produced his first bottle a lovely red wine that he produces. It was good and he had more in his car so one thing led to another--I think.

And how many of yours are ahead of mine???

yours was smooth alright but jeez something awful must have happened to the seat stays. They were horribly bent and distorted. It and Frank's were primered as were the forks. DBRK's Sachs was still nekkid steel. I'm sure that with some Bondo Joe can make it look good too. :)

I think I paid extra for that...

about $200?

I'm not sure. It was kind of a package deal with 05' pricing. I got in under the wire for that (December 05').

Thanks for the update!

Ken. It'll be nice to see the finished frame crooked stays and all. By the way it is your size or close enough, and if you come visit someday I'll let you ride it. Rattling seat stays and all :D . Carnitas and cervasas on me this time. Thanks for the update. Frank

Dog! :p Fondle my fork and eat some of the best fish tacos known, all in the same day. I suppose you washed them down with a yellow tail ale too. If you happen to be around when he finishes send me a pic. Thanks again.

I heard the news that my RS frame as well as my filet brazed Goodrich were both with JB. Thanks for looking in, Ken. Of course, everyone would like to have their bike painted and delivered but I, for one, can wait for JB...why? 'Cause he is worth it.

The RS has internal cable routing, a pump peg, and is built for stnd reach brakes and threadless steerer. It will be regulation red/white and wear modern parts. It's meant to be "fast bike" with versatility.

A similar concept with the Goodrich but it will wear Paul's Centerpulls (for which it has the braze-ons) and the tubing is the lightest reasonable set. I could not be happier these bikes will show up in the next few months.

Everyone I know is working too hard and I can think of nothing better than taking your kid camping while you still can.

You are right about the time with family, dbrk. Long after we have forgotten about the wait his children will remember time spent with Dad. I think its a good thing too. Bikes after all are a material object and don't grow older over night. It seems like we brought our twins home just a couple days ago and now they are starting to talk about the cute boys in their class. Bikes last a long time but children are young for a blink of the eye.
