my atmos helmet was cracked
presumably after a wreck last june.
i've been thinking about fixing it
with epoxy resin left over from my kayak project...
...on second thought,
my wife wasn't comfortable with that
and bought me a specialized decibel helmet.
wise woman!
some things probably aren't meant to be fixed...

Nice wife, Spiderlady. In my case, when I spill, the missus just throws the Crazy Glue in my direction.

Is that the official helmet of the e-twizzler 'cross team?

you think its cracked from a crash? or are you not sure? I ask because my 05 Atmos split in the front likely because I always wear a cycling cap under my helmet. It was never crashed, but definitely beat up from rolling around in the gear bag, dropping it a few times, etc. very well used.
Regardless, I called up Giro (Bell sports), got an RA#, and two weeks later I had a shiney new one for free.

Bike helmets are good for one crash only, imho. It might seem wasteful, but if I have ANY reason to suspect that the helmet might have impacted something in a crash I cut the straps and toss the helmet.

another reason why married men live longer...
things that decrease the risk of cardiovascular events in husbands:
1) sharing a meal together daily with your spouse
2) having a 'meaningful conversation' daily with your spouse
3) exercising together with your spouse daily
maybe having a helmet from your wife is number 4...

Bell, Giro, and Specialized all have a crash replacement policy.
If you get your LBS to send it back, you can get a new one for
a reduced price, and sometimes free.
