Anyone know of any good shop rides near Chula Vista, CA (South San Diego)? Just a no beginner ride, I'd rather get dropped. :) Thank you in advance!

Ranchoes CC, my old club, good guys. Kinda further north but they may have info.

Know this is also more up north but it's all I know. Visited San Diego a month ago and these guys seemed like good guys. Didn't ride with them but our rides started at their shop.

Not from the area but I know the shop Pista Palace sponsors teams so presumably has some pretty challenging group rides if they'd let you join. Pretty stacked shop:

I'm not good a geography but I remember it being close to the zoo.

I know there ARE rides down there, but I'm not sure who you should talk to.

I've ridden the 'stadium ride' out of Mission Valley (Wed AM), then moved N. Co Coastal so rode SDBC lots (Sat AM).

During the week after the time change the Thurs Night Fiesta Is ride's a good one. Be prepared to go very fast on the downwind leg. Also be prepared to grovel in the gutter if you're not as fit as you should be. AMHIK

Pista Palace moved a long time ago and don't have any rides or a team.

Swamis on Saturday http://www.swamis.org/rides and the Wednesday Camp Pendleton http://socalcycling.com/camp-pendleton/ are the baller rides where you are guaranteed to be dropped.

SDBC and Chilis are other options on Saturday, but if you really want to see where you are, the two above are the big ones.

Chula Vista is pretty far from North County and if I were in Chula Vista visiting, I wouldn't want to drive all the way up here to ride. I would recommend contacting Pulse Endurance Sports in Chula Vista to ask: http://pulseendurance.com/

Thanks Guys! I'm only out here for business in Chula Vista this weekend. I didnt want to miss out on a weekend of training. I think I'm going with SD Bike Club in La Jolla.

Probably a good choice. The start is two blocks from my home and parking is no problem.

And it's right there at 5 and Nobel (just take the exit right at the giant cathedral and turn left back over the freeway and the left at the light by CPK), so coming up from Chula is a breeze.
