Added to ti mountain bike for $200 plus transportation.

May be issues with tube strength on road frame.

If the frame wasn't originally made for disc brakes then it wasn't designed for those kind of stresses. I would say it is cost prohibitive, and safety prohibitive.

Moots do this all the time with their older mountain and CX bikes. It has nothing to do with stress, as most frames do not have to be reinforced specifically for disc, although there are many newer frames out there being unnecessary reinforced and incorrectly. Since you have a road frame with a 130mm rear wheel spacing, it is probably not a good idea to do so due to the current popularity of a 135mm rear wheel spacing for a road bike with disc brakes.

Inquired about having that done to my Moots. They said it can be done. Didnt mention any stress related issues.

But,,

Shipping - Easily $100+
Labour for pieces to be added + price of parts. + Refinish from Moots - $475

Then on my end ... new fork.. new wheels... new calipers...

Sweet jebus. Thats almost 2K

I inquired at Seven a year so ago, and they told me it wouldn't be worth the cost. Wish I would have went disc when I got the frame. Oh well, maybe I will just go disc in the front, and all party in the back. :)

Huh I thought we were talking about a Moots not? You have a motorcane? I would donate it to Goodwill and order a Firefly designed from scratch with disc brakes.
