Could anyone shed some light on how the large custom builders such as Litespeed, Seven, Serotta, Independence Fabrication,… manufacture bikes. Most time they seem to use standard rear ends. That is, the seat tube angles are commonly used angles, and chainstays and seatstays are selected from a few sizes. Is the manufacturing process to buildup many standard rear ends, and use them on many different custom bikes?

Thanks

Many use size-specific tubing; that is, custom builders can chose tubing length/diameter/wall thickness of varying sizes to accomplish building a solid and stiff enough frame for both the short, light riders and the big, powerful Clydesdales. Jeff N.

Litespeed are large, but the others are smaller volume manufacturers in comparison.

Seven jump on very latest bandwagon that's passing. I suggest you stay well behind the leading edge of their technological wave. In fact, be conservative and stay all alloy.
