So we had been shopping around for a non-townie bike that would allow my wife to be able to commute, run errands, do a little light touring, and maybe even get her feet wet with cross. she likes the idea of having something that could support an IGH at some point. We had looked at doing build ups with a Surly Cross Check but the price was a little too high for me to want to make the jump on anything. We had heard Fyxation Quiver being tossed around as well. I had been looking at that bike for myself not long ago, but never put two and two together. So we went by Western Bikeworks here in town and talked to them about doing a build. They happened to have the stock 1x10 in her size. She took it out for a spin and was taken with it. The MSRP is around $1100 but it was on sale for $799. We got out of there with a rack and fenders for under $900. I'm happy that she now has a bike that is extremely versatile and will be less labor intensive to ride than her townie.
