:help:
You know its winter when..
My Colnago Master X Light is currently built on 7800.
I have a New Old Stock Dura Ace 25th group.
I really want to give the Colnago the group it deserves...but....is it wrong to take it out of the box?!
or.
Just ride the damn group and enjoy it !

I would install the 25th. You'll be dead by the time you wear it out. My wife still has a 7700 group hanging from her Waterford and it was installed 17 years ago.

I'll add to your quandary and say that an Italian bike deserves an Italian group. Go with Campy Record!
Just funning with you. 7800 is a fine group.
I have had 7700 since the late '90s and am still rolling it on both my road bike and TT bike. I keep waiting for it to take a dump on me but it has not yet. I've replaced a few things (rt shifter, rear dr due to a broken screw, rings, chains, etc) but it's still there.
The deal I made with myself is that when the shifters die, it will be time to put on 9000.

take it out of the box, it was meant to be ridden not fondled:) Just the packaging for that group is pretty neat. A Colnago with Shimano is not a problem. That 7700 kit is probably the most historically accurate group that you could stick on that thaing
