So a forumite is interested in my Klein FS: http://forums.thepaceline.net/showthread.php?t=163114&highlight=klein

and found online this frame requires a GXP BB. I went to my basement and tried both a Shimano british treaded square taper and a hollowtech II. They both went in fine.

My question is : GXP comes in british/italian threading? or is it a different standard all together?

Thanks in advance

Your Klein has a BSA/English threaded BB shell.

GXP is the BB/Crank interface, similar to Hollowtech II but slightly different.

Yes, you can purchase GXP BB cups for Italian threaded frames, but you don't need one for your Klein.

Standard English (or Italian if you can find it). BUT... if by some strange reason your BB is backwards (like you're a framebuilder in a hurry and braze in the BB shell backwards), GXP won't work -- the cups are side-specific, unlike Mega-Exo or Shimano outboard bearing (which can be swapped and Loc-Tited in place). Don't ask me why I know this...
