VERY unscientific but, got a 2015 Chorus front der on my Moots. Friction shifter, 10s Record aluminum crank, 50/39. 9s chain, 7s freewheel. AND, with a lighter 'feel', the front der works just wonderfully.

SO, any you guys with 2015 Campagnolo stuff, and if you can, see if the 2015 front der works with 2014 ERGO and vice versa(2015 ERGO with older front der). I'm thinking number one, new front der, older ERGO would work just fine.

Vecchio's has had 2 2015 Campag groups to build so far but they needed to get 'em done, so couldn't swap stuff 'just to see'.

So, when you break the carbon cage on your older SR/Record front der, maybe..get a Chorus, all metal, BTW.

There seems to be 2 versions of the 2015 FDs.... An alternate S2 (Secure Shifting) System version. Any idea what the major difference is and/or compatibility issues? Shouldn't all shifting be "secure"?

Little tab on the top to push against frame to make it stiffer. For some carbon frames with brazeon tab where the tab is 'soft'. Kinda like the pin/plate for 11s shimano.

Gotcha. So only for carbon frames.

I don't think it matters if you used it on a metal frame. BUT essential on some carbon frames I have seen with really soft der tabs(cervelo comes to mind).

PLUS, no more clamp on front ders from Campagnolo, only brazeon and clamp adapters(31.8 and 34.9) but many 28.6 clamp adapters out there. Great idea on Campagnolo's part. Kinda like the any bolt diameter crank. You will never have to ditch a front der cuz it's got a 31.8 clamp and you need a brazeon.

Mee too...older ERGO, 2015 front der. Dude from UK Campag tech place says it can lead to ERGO breakage but I just don't see it. ASAP, I want to take 2015 ERGO apart, see what's different with 2014/older ERGO. Think it's just the spool diameter.

Honestly I think the front shifting (chorus 11) is noticeably better than my 10 speed Chorus. Id be interested in your being able to notice an improvement.
