I was watching this auction just for fun:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Litespeed-C1R-Carbon-Frame-and-Fork-/191491776203?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2047675.l2557&nma=true&si=xs%252FqGE%252BF6Z21yZbe83vekT3zR3M%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc

Looks to be to have been a steal. I am not as current on my used Litespeed pricing, but $416.00 for a C1R seems like a bargain-basement buy in my out-of-date eyes.

Is this the going rate for something similar?

do a completed auction search - that seems to be about half as much as the next lowest price it's gone for. Litespeed pricing is kind of wonkey like that, though.. sometimes you can find really good deals on them. Their Ti frames, anyway.. I don't know anything about their carbon.

It seems cheap. Then again, it's a used carbon frame.

Yeah, I guess that's the thing. I was in the market for a Ti frame a year ago and have a bit of a handle on secondary market pricing for that. I'm less in tune with used carbon frames.

I forgot about the completed auction search - thanks for the reminder. It's a handy tool.

Wasn't Colorado Cyclist blowing out the C1R recently for a bit above $1000?

I gotta quit sniffing glue because my memory is really lousy lately.

EDIT: Just checked CC's site and they are at $1899 for the C1R. I thought they were offering a bigger sale at about $1300. Again with the memory thing. Too many hits to the head in another life.

A few years ago, I bought an Archon frame that looks like the older version of this...it has a chip in the very thick clearcoat. Think I paid $300? Filled the chip and sold the frame a few months later for...hmm, $400 or so. They didn't seem to be in very high demand.

All of the above + auction ended Friday 6 PM EST - 3 PM PST. Saddle height is limited, stupid BB standard plus in my very personal opinion that frame is as ugly as it gets.

I once scored a near mint used lugged Colnago once for barely less than six hundred. Yep. The naive seller put the end of auction at like 2AM on a Monday when people were sleeping. I resold the frame 6months later for almost double the price. Most high bidding takes place nearer to close of auction. If you keep your eye out you can get some great deals.
